Bryon Miller

Cybersecurity gave me the questions. AI evaluation gives me a new way to test them.

I direct the Computer Science Division and teach computer science at Northeast Alabama Community College. I also teach as Allied Faculty at the University of Mount Olive and work on call as a Research Engineer at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

My academic background includes an MS in Cybersecurity, an MBA in Information Systems, and current PhD study in Information Technology with an emphasis in Information Security. My published research covers IoT botnets, phishing prevention, and advanced persistent threats.

I have spent much of my career building opportunities in northeast Alabama: new programs, employer and university partnerships, student support, cyber events, and community service. That regional work remains important to me even as my research becomes more international and AI-focused.

Outside work, I am a weekend drummer. It is the least academic part of this biography and probably the best counterweight to the rest of it.
